Dareesoft was honored to be part of the 105th rendition of the Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting from January 11th – 13th at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C.

Over 6,100 people from all over the world attended this year’s event, visiting the 121 vendor booths and attending four full days of conferences, panel discussions, demonstrations and classrooms. This annual event brings the world’s top minds to D.C. to discuss the ever-changing landscape of the roadway and transportation infrastructure. All the newest technologies affecting the future of transportation on this planet were on full display. Dareesoft’s participation highlighted the growing global demand for A.I.-based road condition monitoring, as transportation agencies seek scalable, data-driven solutions.

On day 1, Sunday January 11th, the exhibit hall was alive with the energy created by the wide array of cultures mingling together as old friends reunited, deep discussions erupted and eyes opened wide. Scattered throughout the hall people gathered around the hosted bars exchanging ideas, telling stories and visiting booths taking inventory of the various burgeoning technologies on display.

Dareesoft’s booth was particularly busy as our A.I. based pothole detection, real-time road condition monitoring, and predictive road maintenance, which delivers actionable insights at scale, attracted curious and determined industry professionals many from as far away as China, Chile, Hungary, Sweden, The UAE, India, Tanzania and Japan.

Our brand-new booth setup attracted MANY visitors with dual monitors displaying streaming videos of both our basic “RiaaS” RoadView solution in action (encased in a cut-out replica of our ARA 30 road analyzer) and the other overviewing our revolutionary  “RoadMonitor” infrastructure asset management AI. RoadMonitor also includes additional AI powered road condition scoring and reporting capability.

The consistent theme across conversations was the need for AI-based road maintenance solutions that can overcome budget constraints while improving infrastructure safety and operational efficiency. There is a dramatic need for these solutions to provide accurate, verifiable and actionable data, in a timely manner, to help minimize costs and maximize limited resources.

During the short 3-hour Exhibit Hall opening networking session, we were notably visited by representatives of Texas Southern Universities Civil Engineering Department, the Onterio Ministry of Transportation, ASPA from Chile, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Texas State University and Western Michigan University.

Afterwards, we joined the International Networking Reception at the invitation of our New York City law firm Windels Marx, who was the prime sponsor of the event. Located at the prestigious “Clydes of Gallery Place”, industry luminaries mingled with Engineering students from China, Directors of  Public Works from Texas, African Transportation Directors and Engineering Firm Owners from India. New relationships were formed and many awards were given out over heavy hors d’oeuvres, Chardonnet and IPAs.

Monday and Tuesday was when all the heavy lifting was accomplished.  Manning the booth, answering deep and thought-provoking questions, scheduling follow up meetings, gathering potential client information and educating attendees on the current and future capabilities of our “RiaaS” AI powered solutions.

Notable organizations such as WSP, Rodeco Concrete Products of Italy, the University of Washingtons TTAP Program, CSIR of India, Alberta Ministry of Transportation, Texas Highway Products, Michigan Department of Transportation and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America all took extensive notes on our capabilities and the conversations are on-going.

Monday night following the exhibition was probably the highlight of the week for us all. Betty Row and Mandella Jeong, our Founding CEO’s, hosted an intimate gathering of friends and partners who attended TRB at our Air BnB just a short walk from the convention center. A lavish display of Korean food, along with the obligatory beer and soju, fueled a fun and lively evening of deep reflection and discussion followed by personal stories, laughter and maybe some slightly embellished accounts of past accomplishments. 😉

This was a gathering of some of the top minds in the industry featuring our friends from the New York City law firm, a nationally known paving executive from Colorado, a global paving company CEO from Latin America, a government official from Utah with a national presence and a bustling logistics company out of Atlanta.
